Data and Systems Assistant-Summer Job Placement

Are you a business or computer science student interested in spending your summer with a team that is passionate about helping to grow businesses that are shaping Alberta?  If so, Alberta Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) is searching for a summer student to support our team with data and system updates!

This position is envisioned as a hybrid working arrangement (in-office with the ability to work from home), but if you live remotely, please apply, as we can work with the selected applicant on a remote work arrangement.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

·       Data Analysis and Evaluation:

  • Assessing existing data systems to identify opportunities for improvement.

  • Collaborating with different departments to understand their data needs and requirements.

  • Analyzing data flows and identifying improvements.

·       System Optimization:

  • Recommending and implementing enhancements to existing data systems to improve performance.

  • Implementing and managing integrations between various software applications to ensure seamless data exchange.

  • Troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues to ensure continuous system functionality.

  • Support AWE team by cleaning up internal client data; leverage tools to enable data maintenance.

·       Documentation:

  • Documenting data processes, integrations, and system configurations for future reference.

  • Creating user guides to facilitate the understanding and usage of integrated systems.

·       Quality Assurance:

  • Conducting audits to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

  • Implementing data quality measures to maintain high standards across the organization.

·       Marketing Technology automation and Implementation

  • Collaborating with the marketing team to understand their technology stack and data requirements.

  • Implementing and managing integrations between marketing tools to streamline data flows.

·       AI Implementation

  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI tools to maximize efficiency, particularly in marketing, analytics, and website communications while maintaining ethical and responsible use.

  • When/if selected, support the AWE by, building in these solutions for testing/implementation

About you!

  • You are a youth aged 16-30

  • You are currently or recently been enrolled in a relevant diploma or program (e.g. Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Digital Marketing)

  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • You have familiarity with data management principles and best practices.

  • You possess a strong understanding of software integrations and APIs.

  • You have excellent communication and collaboration skills.

  • You can work independently and as part of a team.

Hourly rate: $25/hour for approximately 280 hours (4 days per week for approx. 10 weeks)
